You must have done this...
Lake Garda has been a popular holiday destination for holidaymakers from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol for years. Many have been going there for years. But even after repeated visits, the holiday region still offers something new to discover and has a few surprises in store. The editorial team has been based at Lake Garda for a long time and would like to present some very special highlights to you here:
Parco Natura Viva
Wild animals on the car safari
In Bussolengo on southern Lake Garda there is a very special zoo: the Parco Natura Viva. There you drive your own car through the area and marvel at wild animals. The drive through the rhino's enclosure is particularly impressive.
Not even 3 meters away is a 6m long and 3t heavy rhinoceros - but you don't have to worry about your car! A really worthwhile trip - however, better not in the high season.
Hiking with a lake view
The Monte Baldo National Park
Drive to Prada via Torri del Benaco, Albisano and San Zeno. From there, the Costabello chairlift goes up to Monte Baldo in two stages.
In the hut at the summit station, Adriano is waiting with hearty Pasta Asciutta. The view of Lake Garda is breathtaking. For all experienced drivers, we recommend the exit from Prada in the direction of Castelleto/Brenzone. A very narrow and steep road that goes from about 1,000 m to 60 m and always offers spectacular views.
For happiness in love to Verona
In the footsteps of Romeo & Juliet
The provincial capital of Verona is always worth a visit. The lively city with the famous arena, the cathedral, the Piazza Erbe, the shopping mile Via Mazzini and the many nice bars and restaurants promises an entertaining stay. Whenever you are in Verona, you should make a detour to the Casa di Giulietta and grab Julia on the left breast. This ritual promises everlasting happiness in love. Give it a try!
To play golf with the ferry
Do you live on the east side?
Then do the following: have breakfast in one of the nice bars at the port of Torri del Benaco and then take the ferry to Maderno. From there it is about 10 minutes to the Bogliaco golf course - the third oldest course in Italy. The crossing takes about 20 minutes and you have a magnificent view of Monte Baldo, Monte Pizzocolo and the northern part of Lake Garda.
Ski and golf on Lake Garda
Diverse golf and ski rally
Lake Garda is a year-round golf destination. Only an hour's drive from Lake Garda are wonderful ski areas such as Folgaria, Monte Bondone (Trento) or Paganella.
Combine that and play golf one day and ski down the slopes the next day - 100% fun guarantee!
Boat excursion on the Mincio
Away from the hustle and bustle
At Mantua, the Mincio River forms many branches and extends over a large area. In the century before last lotus blossoms were planted there, which can be admired. A boat trip through the blooming lotus fields in August is absolutely impressive - in the background the silhouette of Mantua. Very romantic! Cost per person from 8 €
